A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
Super Kaleb. Hancock. Superman.
All of the above. OrealE? Yes “Oh Real-ly!” It is wonderful to hear for a change some news of violence being prevented and lives being saved. We tend to be fascinated by the negative outcome of these types of events where multiple people are killed and injured by individuals that cannot manage their emotions in a healthy manner.
The tragedy is in the fact that the 14 year old young lady with the gun felt that she had to go to that extreme to get someone to hear her frustrations.
There are a lot of great lessons that can be drawn from this event.
- The things we say to people does have an effect. We need to encourage others; not tear them down. Life can be a frustrating event for many people. We need to hear positive and uplifting words to help us maneuver through the let down’s and frustrations in our lives.
- We need to talk about what is bothering us and not stuff our emotions. They will always come out in the wrong way and hurt us and others that have nothing to do with why you feel how you do.
- It only takes one to do something to help prevent something worst. Kaleb Eullis is to be commended for his selfless act and the risk he took of personal injury to save the lives of others. It is that same selfless act that someone that knew or observed the frustrations this young lady was going through could have used to stand up for the young lady when she was being teased and bullied.
- Ask for help. There are people out there willing to help you. But you have to take that first step by reaching out to someone. Don’t be afraid to tell someone about what is bothering you. If you don’t; it only ends up hurting you the most in the end.
We have to stop being individuals and work as a team. Teams win games. An individual cannot win alone. A golfer has a caddy as a team mate. A tennis player has a coach. Understand that those that succeed know how to work as a team. Remain open minded. Talk to others about what is bothering you. Be a great listener. And have empathy (care about) others.
Thank you Kaleb.
